Here at Pseudo Apparel we have created a 100% New Zealand made, eco-friendly beanie.
25% of our total profits will go towards CanTeen, a New Zealand charity who support teens affected by cancer.
Our Collaboration with CanTeen
25% of our total profits will be donated to CanTeen, a charity who support teens impacted by cancer in New Zealand. Our product idea of beanies stemmed from those who are battling cancer wearing these accessories post treatment to keep their heads warm after hair loss.
Throughout the duration of our project, we intend to maintain social sustainability, by raising both awareness and funds for CanTeen, which will be used to support teens, just like us, to continue to live a normal life after being diagnosed with cancer.
I have been a CanTeen member for almost five years now, but in the last few months, I feel like I have been a part of CanTeen more than ever. This is because in October of last year, my life changed. I was told that I had been diagnosed with cancer for a second time. The school holidays were just starting, and I was sitting in the doctor’s office being told that I have an osteosarcoma tumour in my lower leg. I thought at the time that being a CanTeen offspring, sibling and patient member was enough already, let alone being a patient twice-over! CanTeen has helped me get through what I thought would not happen, after going through cancer as a child.
About Us
Our company, Pseudo Apparel, is a virtual company for the Young Enterprise Scheme NZ, run at Christchurch Girls' High School. Our team consists of four high school students; Grace Maguire, Samantha Close, Chelsea Mckenzie-Lee and Rebecca Rice.
We are passionate about making a positive impact to our community, along with helping preserve New Zealand's natural beauty. Our product therefore has a major focus on both social and environmental sustainability.
